Pennsylvania - MorganInterior Color: Black Exterior Color: Sebring Yellow Description: 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W30 Although Oldsmobile didn\'t field as many muscular models as its GM siblings Pontiac and Chevrolet, or competing automakers Ford and Chrysler, the division certainly made the most of what it did have.  For example, in 1969, there was the Hurst/Olds, the 4-4-2, the 4-4-2 with W-30, the 4-4-2 with W-32 and the Cutlass S or F-85 with W-31. The Dr. Oldsmobile campaign, with its classic horror movie vibe of a mad scientist creating a monster for the street, was so visually arresting that it remained powerful in black and white, which also stayed true to the Hollywood era it was depicting.  Submitted beneath the exaggerated characters, smoke and vintage laboratory props were detailed specifications regarding Oldsmobile\'\'s W-Machines. (Thx to Hemmings) For consignment, an Oldsmobile 442 right from the doctor\'s lab in 1970. A 442 hardtop with all signs pointing towards this car carrying the high-performance W-30 package. The giveaways to note are the W25 fiberglass hood, rear spoiler, low restriction air cleaner, correct cylinder heads, numbers matching engine block and the numbers matching Munice transmission. This Oldsmobile is equipped with all the right performance options along with some harder to find luxury items that one does not normally see on an all-out muscle car. Who says muscle cars can\'t have creature comforts like an AM/FM 8 track player, interior hood release and a headlight sentinel? The original owner knew how to option a car and the culmination of his/her desires is now presented before you in our Hallowed Halls. Exterior Straight steel side panels with coke bottle form, and fiberglass dual scooped hood with consistent gaps are all bathed in a 2001 color change to Sebring Yellow paint which is a correct 1970 Oldsmobile color. During this redux the fenders, doors, and trunk lid were replaced with rust free original parts. Meanwhile, aftermarket rear quarter panels were installed and lined up to perfection. Up front, a split grille is flanked by dual headlights on either side and a large chrome bumper below. All is nice and tight and in good alignment with no rust or fading on chrome. Glossy black accenting paint is seen on the original hood as well as a painted in belt line spear which runs the gamut of the sides of this car. The roofline slowly slopes gracefully to the trunk deck, where we see a reproduction rear spoiler attached, (it replaced a worn and tattered original). As the trunk rolls downward it greets a shiny rear bumper with inset tail lights. Dual exhaust pipes peek out from underneath this bumper. On all 4 corners we have 15-inch Oldsmobile Super Stock II wheels all wrapped in raised white letter BFG\'s. Very 70s and very nice. Interior Opening one of the doors we are greeted by pristine textured black vinyl horizontally stitched with nice chrome accents, window cranks, and vinyl wood grain panels with black carpeting below. Front buckets in high back form have buttoned and stitched front and back bolsters with some curved smooth inserts, also in black.  The rear bench is all vinyl and takes on the style of the buckets.  A look forward to the dash, and it is a very clean one indeed, with black color padded vinyl and curved metal to match, and plenty of wood burl appliqué for this dash front. This includes the round gauge cluster background and a strip below that houses the temp sliders and Olds AM/FM radio. Just below the radio is the wood applique dressed Oldsmobile 8 track player and a hidden modern AM/FM/CD stereo in the glovebox. A rally steering wheel fronts the dash and shares space on the column with a Sun Super Tach II, and the console which sports a sleek design with more applique houses a Hurst shifter. Clean black carpeting, in great shape, floods the floors and the headliner above looks good and tight, and it has original lighting. A shout to the trunk interior which is beautifully preserved and coated in charcoal gray speckled trun
