1950 Mercury Pickup for Sale | ClassicCars.com | CC-1712707

Mercury Pickup Manual

It may be that you’ve never seen a 1950 Mercury M-47 Pickup truck before. That’s because they were only sold in Canada. Ford Motor Company sold Mercury M Series pickup trucks in Canada from 1948 through 1968. They were the cousin to the Ford F1 and F100 which were sold here in the United States. The Mercury M Series is rarer since they were produced in limited numbers. I thought getting an old Pickup and refurbishing it as a show truck would allow us to do car shows this year. I found this 1950 Mercury Pickup. The man who owned it had Alzheimer’s and could no longer drive it. I was impressed with what I could see of the chassis, front clip, and under cab which were rust free. The motor started and ran very well, and the seller indicated the motor, transmission and clutch were recently rebuilt. From a compression check we determined that the flat head V-8 had indeed been recently rebuilt, we also confirmed it is numbers matching. While that was done, I had the oil pressure, water flow and generator output checked, and they were all fine. Unfortunately, the previous owner could not remember a lot, but the family indicated it was painted his flower shop colors and he used it for marketing and parades, had always garaged it and never drove it winters. I believe that is the reason for its exceptional condition. As I did not care for the present color scheme and graphics, I had the truck re – painted. The work was done by Steve’s Custom Body and Paint in Sydney, Maine and if you want to talk to him about what was done, he is at 207- 547- 3017.The existing coatings were removed, the whole thing sealed, primed, and painted with Ford colors of the time. There is no clear coat on the finish to keep it original looking.During that process we discovered mechanical damage and poor repairs to the rear fenders and running boards. I purchased new replacement steel fenders and running boards. You can see that the original grill was dented, and I found a perfect original replacement in Canada. The rims were blasted, and powder coated, and we installed 5 new Coker radials. We installed a new teak bed and side rails. Before installing the new bed, from the photos included here, you can see how the chassis and cross members looked, they had an existing coating and no rust. Since they were now accessible, we top coated the chassis and cross rails under the bed with an anti-corrosive. We installed the tailgate with all new hardware. The previous owner had the seat redone and the interior replaced with an original, correct replacement kit. As it was in excellent shape, we left it the original off-white color. The previous owner had the electric system professionally converted from 6V to 12V and the truck rewired. We have not done anything under the hood other than the tests mentioned above. We installed new glass packs on the exhaust. MDA83AHN-34748 37,746 miles, not sure if this correct. During the time we have been working on it, health conditions have presented conditions to where I will not now be able to use the truck.

FOR SALE: 1956 Ford F-100 $91,995 USD

Ford F-100 Manual

Engine: 351 Cleveland V8 Transmission: Manual Interior Color: Black & Red Exterior Color: Black Description: This 1956 Ford F-100 is an awesomely incognito restomod. It\'s a modern cruiser, but you\'ll likely not see that in the first impression. The glossy black paint does a terrific job of showing off curvy bodywork and has a classic old pickup look. Whitewall tires, nice chrome bumpers, and real lumber in the truck bed are just pure classic flair. But the lowered stance starts getting you to look a little deeper. Everything from the pinstriping on the tailgate to the side exhaust tips signals this is more than just a classic feed hauler. And as you look inside, there are some well-integrated upgrades like power windows and cold-blowing air conditioning. You also have a terrific driver\'s setup with a banjo-style sports steering wheel on a tilt column, a full AutoMeter gauge package set in a bright panel, and the large tach goes particularly well with the floor shifter. It\'s a powerful package, and the 351 V8 under the hood makes sure it lives up to the hype. So take some extra time to dig into all the details of a pickup that has integrated added swagger, comfort, and driver-oriented power into its very vintage style. HIGHLIGHTS *High-gloss black paint *Clean/classic sheet metal *Custom tailgate pinstriping *Bright chrome, real wood truck bed, and whitewalls signal a classic cruiser *Lowered stance and wide side exhaust tips tell the truck\'s full story *Awesome use of red inside on the seats, doors, and carpet piping *Power windows (on vintage handles) *Cold-blowing air conditioning *Banjo-style sports steering wheel on a tilt column *Full AutoMeter gauge package set in a bright panel *Floor shifter *Sporty forward-tilt hood *Clean and stylish 351 cubic-inch V8 --- New Holley four-barrel carburetor ---Aluminum intake ---Serpentine belt system ---Sanderson headers connecting to a Flowmaster dual exhaust *New Tremec five-speed manual transmission *Upgraded independent front end *Ford 9-inch rear *Power steering *Front disc brakes This one just loves to look and feel like a thoughtfully crafted machine. The hints of red on the wheels and pinstriping on the exterior get you ready for the black and red interior. The vintage look of the steering wheel and gauges make these modern pieces fit nicely into the airy 1950s cab. And when it comes to upgrades, it\'s terrific to see that the powerful V8 has a new five-speed to let you really explore the full power range. It\'s all about making sure that the truck you want to take to events is fun and comfortable to drive to the show. That\'s a big difference that makes this one a thoughtful build that won\'t stay available for very long. Call today!!!

FOR SALE: 1951 Ford F-1 $38,995 USD

Ford F-1 Manual

Engine: 239 Flathead V8 Transmission: Manual Interior Color: Black and Gray Exterior Color: Black Description: This 1951 Ford F-1 is built to be a particularly nice cruiser while also not losing its vintage appeal. So while you\'ll enjoy the custom interior and upgraded suspension, you also have the correct classic feeling everywhere from the Flathead V8 under the hood to the real wood in the truck bed. The glossy black paint makes the exact right first impression. It\'s an updated application that will get this truck noticed, but nothing is overly done to keep it off the road. So you have a true cruiser vibe. We love the look of the first generation F-Series for the big fenders that make for a terrific classic style. And this has the right details, like the steel running boards and tastefully weathered wood in the truck bed. There\'s plenty of nice brightwork with the chrome bumpers, hood trim, side mirrors, side step plates, and upgraded Cragar SS wheels. And so we think it was the right choice to have the grille look even more distinct in a two-tone matte-like silver/gray to stand out even more (and gray is important to the interior, too.) The interior keeps a touch of the vintage style with the steel dash, stock-style gauges, and rugged rubber floor mat. But few people are going to pick up on that because the full package has been so nicely upgraded. It\'s a cool two-tone with gray and black intertwined on the dash, door panels, and seat. There\'s even gray carpeting under the floor mat for better sound deadening and if you even want to really get plush. And speaking of luxuries, this 1950s Ford has modern upgrades like an AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth and provisions for R134a air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow cold again.) The driver\'s seat is a nice command position with an upgraded sports seeing wheel, a tilt column, under-dash readouts, and a Hurst Indy shifter with a cool piston topper for the three-speed. Under the hood is proper flathead V8 power. The 239 cubic-inch motor has a clean and cool style where it\'s easy to spot upgrades like the Edelbrock heads and the Holley four-barrel carburetor. And the aluminum radiator with electric fan really let you know this one was made to go for a drive. The V8 fires up readily with a nice tune out of the dual exhaust. And features like power seeing, power brakes, front discs, and an independent front suspension are nice cruiser upgrades that make this F-1 road-ready. This is an awesomely vintage package that was built for you to truly enjoy. Don\'t let this real classic truck slip away, call today!
