Interior Color: Black Exterior Color: Ermine White Description: 1960 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible The year was 1960. In October of that year CBS began airing a television show featuring two young men, Martin Milner and George Maharis, driving around the countryside looking for adventure.  Both the car and the program were a hit. The show was \'Route 66\' and the car was, of course, a 1960 Corvette.  We may never know if the show helped boost sales but deliveries of the Corvette eventually topped 10,000 for the first time, (total run 10,261), that year. The Corvette had already been around for seven years then, not really changing much, just evolving a bit every year.  Gracing our overstuffed but Hallowed Halls here at the Classic Auto Mall we give you a well restored 1960 Corvette.  The mill is an era correct but not original 327ci V8 bored .030 over and a low rise dual quad carb setup so it has some real get up and go. This writer loves a C1 Corvette, and this car is simply no exception. Exterior Bathed in a better than new Ermine White respray that glistens with appeal, this 1960 Corvette has an Ermine White cove and silver unrestored hardtop, with correct date coded glass).  Also, it sports a black canvas soft top with a plastic rear window. All chrome is showing in perfect condition and our eyes are drawn to the final year chrome toothy grill that glistens and reflects beautifully. It\'s amazing the amount of chromed adornments are actually on this sporty looking car which with all the chrome it has a real touch of class. Around back we are greeted with the final year taillights that are rounded into the rear quarter. Twin chrome curvaceous rear bumpers bring up the tail of the car and the correct exhaust exits through each bumper section. 1970\'s slotted wheels are now in this car and these are all wrapped in 205/65R15 rubber. It just does not get any better for this beautiful design. Interior Stunning, flawless, mind blowing are just a few words to describe this interior. Black near perfect vinyl is the best way to sum it up.  Although the doors have a wonderful section of machined stainless that swoops from front of the door to the back and cradles the armrest/door pull.  Bomber style black vinyl buckets are cradled by the rear top hiding cowl.  Between the seats is a vertical cascading storage box which runs to the central hump and has stainless shiny edging encircling it and the seats.  Upfront, the dash which is the most beautifully designed aspect of this car has all necessary gauges with black fields and white lettering, surrounded by chromed bezels, and embedded into deep steel formed circles that are topped by a semicircular speedometer. All this is fronted by a 3 spoke machined big steering wheel in drilled metal and black leather covering the rim. The top of the dash is a combination of metal and some padded vinyl which has the same swooping effect as the door panels. On its way to the center console, a newer AM/FM cassette radio is noted along with a clock. Flooding the floor is a gorgeous gray with peppering of tan loop pile carpeting with minor fading.  A Hurst shifter with a white ball topper sits proudly in the center of the driveshaft hump between the seats that also sports the ash receptacle. Drivetrain  Opening the forward hinged hood, we are greeted with a totally buttoned up and great looking non original to this car 327ci V8 mill. The consignor states it is bored .030 over and it has a Comp Cam camshaft within its confines. The block codes out as a 1965 275hp engine. On top, fed through braided stainless fuel lines is a low rise Edelbrock dual quad carb setup featuring Edelbrock 550cfm carbs. On the back is a circa 1969 Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission. The rear axle weighs in at 3.36 and it\'s a posi version. Headers and a Magnaflow exhaust are on and I can see a newer MSD ignition. Undercarriage Uber clean down here, with just a touch of surface rust on the X frame. All is very solid and some more stainless braid
