Â This car is the beneficiary of a frame off restoration where it was transformed into this tribute version of the Hertz rental available in 1965.Â All sorted out and completely rebuilt with plenty of attention to detail, you can be rolling around in a skate that will be the envy of the rink! Exterior Its frame off restoration began with hours working its steel panels into a completely straight and well minded gap body. Â Then a smooth and glossy coat of Raven Black urethane was adorned with metallic gold stripes, sealed in a durable clear coat shell, and accented with correctly stenciled G.T. 350 H side stripes. Â Leading the way at the front edge, a stainless, Shelby style grille hangs pristine horizontal bars between two louvered bezel headlights, a great looking chrome bumper and a front valance that\'s complete with chrome trimmed parking lights. Â At the top of that grille, a traditional metal hood, which is secured by chromed metal pins, sports a Shelby hood scoop. Â And at the top of the car, like-new windows trimmed in stainless.Â Satin finished wipers and chrome drip rails which are just perfection are at the top edge of the roof. Â A hockey stick cove has an intake vent on the rear quarter and some gills that roll downward with the B pillar and graceful glass.Â The trunk is pure \'65 \'Stang as it has the gold stripes and rolls into the rear with the iconic trio of outward Veed lenses on theÂ corners.Â Another perfectly preserved rear bumper is on with shiny bumperettes and deep bezeled backup lights.Â 15-inch Magnum 500 wheels are wrapped in 215/60R15 fronts an 225/60R15 rears, all raised white letter BFG Radial T/A\'s Interior Entree vous if you will past pure \'65 Mustang styling for the door panels that have some smooth and some tuck and roll black vinyl and are expertly crafted for the entry to a completely satisfying driving environment. Â Inside pristine low back buckets with more tuck and roll black vinyl and smooth bolsters grab you and beg you to sit in them.Â Â A rear 2 plus 2 beckons the same as the front.Â On the hump is a Hurst shifter reaching for the driver.Â All this in a sea of nice black carpeting all fade free and ready to curl your toes up into.Â You sit in the driver\'s seat and reach forward out a wood rimmed, drilled 3 post rally wheel atop the factory column. Â Gauges are the standard fare Mustang horizontal speedometer and circle gauges on the edges under a padded black dual eyebrow dash top.Â The radio has been removed and the glovebox was signed by Carroll Shelby, (as every one has... he signed everything!). For example, the body has Shelby-style details, but he never gave you a stunning two-tone like this. And while Shelby upgrades the power, the performance-built crate V8 and five-speed make this a better performance than his coupes. And as you check out everything from the four-wheel disc brakes to the A/C interior, you realize this classic has been given the investment to have an all-around appeal. This GT350 tribute is already quite desirable because it starts with taking one of the rarest and often most valuable of the three Mustang configurations, the 2+2 fastback. The Shelby upgrade means a lightweight fiberglass hood with scoop, a blacked-out grille with offset pony, and larger side air ducts. But there\'s much more going on here. The GT350 rocker stripe is done in black, and while that would often coordinate with the racing stripe on top, in this case, it coordinates with the US Mags wheels and the full upper section of the body. And as you check out the paint, you can see it looks quite glossy and nice. The natural body lines of the Mustang are used to separate the Raven Black and Sonic Blue for a thoughtful sense of style. It also draws added attention to the best lines, like the king-up at the rear fender and sleek rear that gives this fastback its name. Crystal clear headlights, bright chrome bumper, GT-style exhaust tips, and excellent sheet metal lines are all part of a quality presentation that elevates this classic to award-worthy status.
