Ford Mustang Automatic

Interior Color: White Exterior Color: Grabber Blue Description: 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 The 1970 model year Mustangs were restyled to be less aggressive and therefore returned to single headlamps which were moved to the inside of the grille opening with \'fins\' on the outside of the grille sides.  Some felt the aggressive styling of the 1969 model hurt its sales and this view prompted the headlamp revisions and simplification of other exterior styling aspects.  It\'s worth noting though that 1969 model year sales exceeded those of 1970.  The rear fender air scoops were removed and the taillight panel was now flat instead of concave as seen on 1969 models.  The interior options remained mostly unchanged.  The 1970 model year saw the previous 351ci Windsor V8 engine options replaced with a new 351ci Cleveland V8 in either 2V or 4V versions.  Though some early 1970 mustangs, built in 1969, had the 351W.  The 351C 4V engine featured 11.0:1 compression and produced 300hp at 5400 rpm.  This new performance engine incorporated elements learned from the Ford 385 series engine and the Boss 302, particularly the poly-angle combustion chambers with canted valves and the thin-wall casting technology.  Ford made 96 \'Mustang Twister Special\' cars for Kansas Ford dealers in late 1969.  The Twister Specials were Grabber Orange Mach 1s with special decals.  Ford also made a few \'Sidewinders\', which were built in Dearborn, shipped to Omaha, and sold in Iowa and Nebraska.  They were available in Grabber Green, Grabber Blue, Calypso Coral, and Yellow.  The stripes came in the trunk to be installed by dealers. For consignment, a 1970 Mustang Mach 1 in a color change to Grabber Blue with black accenting.  It has its correct 351ci Cleveland mill with a C4 automatic transmission and comes to us in wonderfully restored form.  This supersonic pony is ripe for the taking with icy cold AC, new dash electronics, a JL Audio amp, Kenwood speakers and a Custom AutoSound Bluetooth stereo.  Strap your belts on extra tight....we\'re shooting for Mach 1! Exterior Sculpted steel with distinct Mustang features which carry over from the original design, like sunken single headlights, factory hood pins, an oval grille.  A Cobra Jet style hood scoop and the triple tail lighting on either side of the rear all look like they have been put on steroids.  The hockey stick cove is not on this car and the prior years rear quarter open vents have been omitted for the 1970 model year.  Of course the Sportsroof has that sexy roofline and a black spoiler is on the trunk deck.  This goes well with the near flawless Grabber Blue paint and factory glass framed with shiny stainless trimmings seen throughout.  In front, a pencil thin chrome bumper hovers below the oval grille with no galloping horse emblems, just signal/marker lights.  Overall the body remains solid but is not without its faults and flaws.  These show as in the form of a few stone chips and light sanding scratches.  Bright and shiny chrome laden Magnum 500 wheels in 15-inch format are wrapped in BF Goodrich raised white letter rubber, 235/60R15\'s in front, and 245/60R15\'s on back from the 33rd week of 2018.  Oh and we certainly cannot overlook the black hood stripe, rear sport slats, blacked out tail panel and the black ribbed rocker moldings all providing the perfect contrast to the blue.  When one thinks of a 1970 Mach 1, this is the scheme that first comes to mind. Interior Surgically clean smooth and stitched white vinyl with a nice applique insert covers the door panels.  The shiny actuators are inserted into the panel and a shiny window crank along with a comfy armrest are mounted here as well.  Inside, correct  Mach 1 high back bucket seats with white knitted Clarion vinyl inserts and smooth bolsters and headrests are the chairs in front.  A center console is between these buckets and sports a glovebox, and houses the T-handle automatic shifter.  A correct rim blow steering wheel sits atop the fixed column and fronts the original dash, which is a series of de

1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Orange/Black Why This Car Is Special The Ford Mustang Mach 1 was a performance-oriented option package of the Ford Mustang muscle car, originally introduced in August 1968 for the 1969 model year. The 1970 model year saw the Mach 1 use the 351 cubic inch Cleveland V8 H-Code like the real Mach 1, verified by the 05 in the VIN code, we have here at Skyway Classics that has the brand new Orange paint job and a recent restoration. Features 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Verified by the 05 in the VIN code 351 cubic inch Cleveland V8 H-Code 4-speed 4-barrel carb Aluminum intake Edelbrock finned aluminum valve covers Shaker Hood Scoop air cleaner assembly Power steering and brakes Blue performance spark plug wires Performance distributor and coil Tube headers Dual exhaust Aftermarket radiator Clean, painted, and detailed engine compartment Black high-back buckets and matching rear seat Matching door panels with woodgrain trim Black carpets Passenger analog clock Aftermarket Radio Wood steering wheel Grabber Orange paint Hood pins Black Mach 1 rocker panels Chin spoiler Rear Spoiler Rear window slats Magnum 500 wheels BF Goodrich T/A radial raised white letter tires Mechanics Our Mach 1 has a 351 cubic inch H-Code engine in it and has been modified with a 4-barrel carb, aluminum intake, Shaker hood scoop air cleaner assembly, Edelbrock finned aluminum valve covers, power steering and brakes, blue performance spark plug wires, updated distributor, and Accel yellow coil providing the sparks, tube headers and exhaust routed out the dual exhaust out the rear, aftermarket radiator, and the engine sitting in a clean, painted, and detailed engine compartment. It starts easily and makes great torque, a muscle car trademark, and you'll find that the engine loves to rev and never seems to run out of breath with the 4-speed transmission that makes for performance cruising. It rides on factory style chrome Magnum 500 wheels and fat BF Goodrich T/A radial raised white letter tires. Interior The 1970 Mustang looks as good as it did when original and is both comfortable and sporty from the factory with the black high-back buckets, 4-speed shifter, matching rear seat and door panels with woodgrain trim, black carpets, Ford's twin-cockpit design puts a quartet of gauges ahead of the driver all wrapped in woodgrain, a wood steering wheel, and a passenger analog clock, updated radio, and a great headliner. Exterior Our Mustang looks great in its new Grabber Orange paint, and being a one-year only design, has the fabulous look that includes the fastback profile. Then add in the blacked-out shaker hood scoop, hood pins, black Mach 1 rocker panels, front and rear spoilers, and black stripes on the hood, and this is a terrific muscle machine. Our Mach 1 wears the chin spoiler, rear window slats as well and emits a rumble from the V8. Conclusion If you are looking for a classic Mustang Mach 1 with great colors and presentation, then look no further than the gorgeous 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 we have here at Skyway Classics. With its 351 cubic inch V8 engine and 4-speed transmission, it has a great presentation and it is a better-than-new muscle car Mustang that you will want to drive and add to your garage. FOR SALE: 1970 Ford Mustang $39,900 USD

Ford Mustang Automatic

Interior Color: Black Exterior Color: Calypso Coral Description: 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 The age-old debate is revolving around this car, and in particular whether it\'s a Sportsroof or a Fastback.  The general consensus is that it is whatever you want to call it.  Actually Ford refers to the 1968 model as the fastback, and the 1969 model as the Sportsroof, but you be the judge.  Taking this tact prevents me from being barraged by the e-bay experts whom inevitably are always correct, (tongue in cheek!). For consignment, a 1970 Mustang Mach 1 in Calypso Coral with black accenting.  It has its original 351ci Cleveland mill with the original FMX automatic transmission and comes to us in very original form as a 1 owner car.  This supersonic pony is ripe for the taking and can serve as a textbook for others doing their own restoration.  With an entirely new brake system,  a new fuel tank, and a host of other maintenance and upgrades, it\'s hard to go wrong here...read on! Exterior Sculpted steel with distinct Mustang features which carry over from the original design, like sunken single headlights, factory hood pins, an oval grille, Cobra Jet style hood scoop, and the triple tail lighting on either side of the rear all look like they have been put on steroids.  The hockey stick cove is not on this car and the prior years rear quarter open vents have been omitted for the 1970 model year.  Of course the Sportsroof has that sexy roofline and a black spoiler is on the trunk deck.  This goes well with the lightly hazed Calypso Coral paint and factory glass framed with shiny stainless trimmings seen throughout.  In front, a pencil thin chrome bumper hovers below the oval grille with no galloping horse emblems, just signal/marker lights.  Overall the body remains solid but is not without its faults and flaws.  Some sanding scratches are noted throughout the body along with various chips, small rust bubbles and notable body filler in the passenger\'s lower rear quarter panel.  Some invasive rust is noted in the bottom of the driver\'s door shell.  Lightly tarnished 14-inch aluminum slot wheels are wrapped in BF Goodrich raised white letter rubber, 215/40R14\'s in front, and 245/60R14\'s on back from the 14th week of 2006.  Smoke \'em if ya got \'em! Interior Fairly nice and smooth and stitched black vinyl with a nice applique insert covers the door panels.  The shiny actuators are inserted into the panel and a shiny window crank along with a comfy armrest are mounted here as well.  Inside, correct and original Mach 1 high back bucket seats with black knitted Clarion vinyl inserts and smooth bolsters and headrests are the chairs in front.  A center console is between these buckets and sports a glovebox, and houses the T-handle automatic shifter that has been rebuilt.  A correct rim blow steering wheel sits atop the fixed column and fronts the original dash, which is a series of deep set round gauges lined up and backed with wood applique under a squared off eyebrow dash top.  Currently there is an aftermarket Sun SuperTach Super Tach II tachometer on the steering column.  In the center is the factory Philco AM radio and the climate control sliders.  In front of the passenger is another high squared off eyebrow that has the factory clock, Mach 1 badge and a glove box below.  Very sporty and reminiscent of an aircraft interior.  Noted in back is a 2+2  rear seat under the sloping roof, and it is surrounded by plastic molded armrests and some storage bins.  Black carpeting in on the floors, and soiled but tight white headliner is above. Drivetrain Under the hood, is an unrestored engine bay is the factory original 351ci Cleveland V8 now with a mild performance camshaft installed.  It is being fed by a rebuilt Holley 4-barrel carburetor via an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold.  On back is the original FMX 3-speed automatic tranny which pushes power rearward to a Ford 9 inch 3.25 geared rear axle.  For some dress up we see black texture finished and ribbed Ford Racing valve covers in black ribbed
