Ford Mustang Automatic

Interior Color: Black Exterior Color: Grabber Lime Description: 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 - 351ci V8 - 285 Horsepower - Automatic Transmission - 85k Miles Shown - Grabber Lime Exterior - Black Interior Those of us, of a certain age, can recall growing up watching a genre of car movies that were low-budget, often with no-name actors, with the real talent being the cars featured in the action scenes. These now car culture classics, such as Two-Lane Blacktop, Vanishing Point, American Graffiti, Dirty Mary - Crazy Larry, and Bullitt are just a few of these glorious films featuring amazing driving scenes! Certainly, one that stands out from these movies is Gone in 60 Seconds. Not the one featuring Nick Cage but the original produced and starring H.B. Halicki was released in 1974. This movie became an instant cult classic due to a record-breaking 40-minute car chase scene. This amazing scene not only skyrocketed this movie to car movie infamy it unknowingly turned a Mustang into an unforgettable incarnation christened Eleanor. In the original Gone and 60 Seconds Eleanor was the code name for what was believed to be a 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 that was to be stolen and delivered to a drug kingpin in South America. However, in reality, the original Eleanor was a 1971 SportsRoof Mustang decked out with a later front grille and a paint scheme similar to the Ford Mach 1. When the 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 featured here rolled into the Garage Kept Motors, with its similar Grabber Lime hue our thoughts immediately went to the original yellow Eleanor. As mentioned, this original Mach 1 is painted in the factory color Grabber Lime with the correct Mach 1 black side stripes and hood paint treatment. The paint is well-maintained and shines with a deep luster. The rear bumper chrome presents with little if any patina and reflects with a rich brilliance as does the related stainless trim. The correct front chin spoiler and rear deck-mounted spoiler adorn the SportsRoof body, and the front fender and rear trunk Mach 1 decorations call out this no ordinary Mustang. The blacked-out honeycomb front and rear treatments, dual sport rearview mirrors, and NACA-style hood scoops finish out muscular styling that is unique only to the Mach 1. The trunk is clean and includes an additional Magnum 500 spare with a fresh spare tire along with the correct vinyl trunk mat and spare tire cover. The final touch on this Mach I is the fresh Magnum 500 chrome factory wheels with B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A tires and raised white letter tires. Inside the cockpit of this vintage street light warrior, the black interior has been nicely restored with new seat upholstery, new carpet, and new floor mats embroidered with the Mustang logo. A specially designed for the Mustang, Grant 15 wood steering wheel with Mustang center cap looks factory stock complementing the large factory 120 MPH speedometer and clock. Center-mounted dash gauges monitor oil pressure, water temperature, and the alternator output with an era-correct Sun Super Tach II that has been mounted on the steering column to watch the shift points. The Ford AM/FM tuner with 8-track is still in place ready to play the classic 70\'s rock as you cruise! Under the hood presents well and features a 351cid V8. A high-performance 4bbl carburetor with an aluminum dual-plane intake tops this set-up. A Comp Cams camshaft adds some rumble through the aluminized headers and a Comp Cams vacuum canister and captures an extra shot of vacuum for the power brakes with this big cam. This hot set up is kept cool with a new copper/brass four-core radiator with a factory fan shroud and new cooling hoses and an additional transmission cooler. A chrome open-element air cleaner and a set of aluminized Ford Racing valve covers add a little bling to this otherwise all-business powerplant. Power is transferred through a Ford 3-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. Underneath the unibody frame and floors are unrestored but are clean with no indications of any rust through and
