Interior Color: Gray Exterior Color: Bright Red Description: 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z28 A concept created partially by Roger Penske, the International Race of Champions or IROC would pit all-star drivers from numerous venues of racing, against each other in similarly prepared cars. Except for the first season, those cars were provided by Chevrolet, and they chose to feature the Camaro. This IROC version of the 1988 Camaro is in full IROC street garb. Special decal badging, a low-slung windshield, some fairings, and a powerful 5.7 Liter Tuned Port fuel injection engine were just a few of the features that were added to this version of the Camaro. Purchased new at Klick-Lewis Chevrolet in Palmyra, PA by the son of a long time employee at GE and always garage kept in a climate controlled building, things are looking exactly like they did when this IROC-Z rolled off the Norwood assembly line. This 28,722 title verified actual mile 2 owner example comes with all of it\'s service records, the original window sticker, order forms, and has recently had the AC converted to R134A with all GM parts. It\'s time to IROC and roll baby bear!  Exterior Code 81U, Bright Red covers the straight steel body panels, fairings and front built in spoiler of the car. A curved glass rear greenhouse deck offering up plenty of storage, and IROC Z badging in a gray fade is seen on each door, as well as Z28 5.7 Tuned Port injection in a charcoal to gray fade badge on the front lower fender. Hood louvers grace the long pony car hood and this particular model was optioned without the T-roof, so there\'s no worrying about leaks.  Polished 16-inch 5 spoke Camaro mags are attached to all 4 corners and noted as front and rear wheels because of different offsets. Lower rocker portion of this car is very clean and presents as a nicely cared for 28,722 mile car. Drivetrain The Tuned Port Injection 5.7 Liter gives plenty of smooth power, 225 horses of it actually. This is fed with electronic fuel injection. Meanwhile, on the back is a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission. All this sends power back to a 10-bolt positraction rear axle with the 3.27 gearing. All is looking factory fresh and clean as a whistle. Undercarriage Some surface rust is noted on the suspension and driveshaft and rear pumpkin. The floor pans are solid, as is the unibody construction bathed in black. Power actuated 4 wheel disc brakes  help this racer stop dependably and independent coil spring front suspension works with a torque arm and coil spring suspension for the rear to keep the tires hooked to the pavement. The factory single exhaust with dual outlets provides the exhale and throaty 5.7 Liter IROC growl.
