Granted the Camaro and it\'s F-Body sibling the Pontiac Firebird were initially released to compete in the Pony Car Wars started by Ford Mustang. The Camaro quickly became the go to performance car for the budding youthful car market that fueled the muscle car era of the 60\'s and into the 70\'s. Garage Kept Motors is excited to showcase this nice resto/mod 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS/RS with a true vintage vibe to it. This car was treated to an older cosmetic restoration and painted the correct Tahoe Turquoise color. The paint on this car has some minor blemishes and chips across the body, but the paint has been well maintained and presents with a nice shine, and features the correct white wrap-around SS strip on its nose. The chrome and related stainless trim has also been well cared for and maintains a deep luster. The correct RS hideaway headlights are present and work as designed, and the front is adorned with a factory chin spoiler. Inside the car, the black interior appears all original with only light wear on the seat upholstery which is free of any tears or rips. The carpet has some fade and light soiling, and the car comes with a nice set of custom floor mats with the SS logo embroidered on them. A custom 3-spoke steering wheel with walnut rim frames the factory 120 MPH Speedometer and Tachometer. The center console features the factory rally gauge pack with an optional clock and frames the Hurst shifter with a white shifter ball. A Pioneer AM/FM/CD Super Tuner is mounted neatly in the dash and provides the soundtrack to your drives through a set of 6X9 speakers mounted in the rear package tray. Originally this car was a true 396 V8, however under the hood now sits a 454 V8 topped with a vintage Edelbrock Dominator C-454 aluminum intake and Holley carburetor with electric choke. The fuel mixture charge is ignited through an HEI distributor and the burned gases are expelled through a set of Hooker headers. A chrome air cleaner, alternator, and Chevrolet valve covers add some shine under the hood. This car is equipped with power steering and power brakes. The undercarriage is unrestored but presents with no indications of any rust or accident repair. Braking is provided by 4-wheel drums and the exhaust flows through dual exhaust into chamber-style mufflers with correctly placed tailpipes that dump behind the rear tires. The big block power is transferred through a Muncie 4-Speed equipped with a Pro Force Clutch back to the GM 10 bolt rear differential. Era-correct traction bars are mounted on the springs to prevent leaf-spring roll-up and keep the tires firmly planted under hard acceleration. This Camaro rides on a set of 15 Torq Thrust aluminum wheels with slightly larger tires out back to give it that classic California rake. There is no question that driving this car will take you back to a time when we drove our hot cars to work as daily drivers and then ruled the streets with them as weekend warriors on the boulevard.
