FOR SALE: 1966 Pontiac GTO $62,995 USD

Pontiac Gto Manual

Engine: 455 V8 Transmission: Manual Interior Color: White Exterior Color: Red Description: This 1966 Pontiac GTO has a big 455 V8 and four-on-the-floor. Oh yeah, you know you\'re already going to love it even before you check out the extra-sleek style and all the extra features that come with this enhanced muscle car hardtop. The bold red paint is an upgrade that knows how to grab attention. The color was done with care to have the kind of gloss that pops in the sunshine. The overall finish also likes to look impressive while still being more of a driver than a museum piece. And it has a great canvas thanks to straight sheet metal and tight body lines. Chrome also looks nice on all places, including the body-hugging bumpers, trim surrounding windows, and smooth-looking rockers. But this car is not just about style. As a real-deal GTO, it has all the right high-performance details like the hood scoop, fog lights, badging, large dual exhaust tips, and the correct intricate tail panel exclusive to the GTO. And a nice set of polished American Racing Torq Thrust wheels adds to both the performance feeling and the shining style. The interior has a clean and comfortable style. The exterior red returns as an accent but now white is the main color. The seats, door panels, and other fundamentals. It shows pretty well, but you\'ll be even happier to know there is a new interior that also comes with the sale. We also like how this granddaddy of muscle cars has plenty of vintage style everywhere you look, right down to AM radio on display. Plus, you\'ll appreciate the driver-oriented package. You have front bucket seats, a center console in-between, a classic woodgrain steering wheel, clear gauge cluster with speedo and tach. And that Hurst shifter is exactly where you want to rest your right hand. The engine bay is built for power. It has an impressive look with the smooth black inner walls, K&N Air Filter, and plenty of bright components -- including the Pontiac etched aluminum valve covers. And as you keep digging, you\'ll discover even more powerful details. This is a 455 cubic-inch V8, which is larger than stock for the 1966 GTO. It\'s also further enhanced with the right performance upgrades like Kaufman aluminum heads, an Edelbrock intake, and topped with a Quick fuel four-barrel carburetor. This also has the right supporting components, like an MSD ignition, an Optima red top battery, and an aluminum radiator. The headers add power and rumble to the dual exhaust, and any time you really want this big V8 machine to bring the thunder, there are electric cutouts. The four-speed manual transmission gives you full control over the motor\'s power and awesome soundtrack. As you look underneath, you\'ll spot stout components like a 12-bolt rear end, boxed rear trailing arms, and thick sway bars. Plus, you have power steering, power brakes, front discs, and wide BF Goodrich T/As s for all-around driving appeal. The sale comes complete with a ton of extra components (including for the interior) and PHS documentation. This is the true GTO that has added power and poise. It\'s time to drive a legend, call today!

1966 Pontiac GTO

Pontiac Gto Manual

1966 Pontiac GTO VIN: 242176K102212 Following discharge from the US Military, a Red with White interior 1966 Pontiac GTO Hardtop was bought and enjoyed in the ways that a young man who love cars will. Years went by and family and life saw the GTO go by the wayside and eventually sold. Upon retirement in the early 2000s, this same man, still young at heart and with a goal, set out to re-create his beloved 1966 Pontiac Gran Turismo Omologato. A 1966 Pontiac was sourced and verified by PHS research and documentation to be a true 2 door hardtop GTO Coupe. The car was then subjected to an extensive restoration over a 3 year period and under a watchful eye to make sure the car was done correctly to acurately represent the car from his post military service. The car sourced, according to the PHS documents was equipped from the factory with a 389ci, 335HP and a 4 Speed Manual Transmission. While the original drivetrain to the car was not present, a code YS 1966 389ci, 335HP engine was acquired and professionally rebuilt. It is mated to a rebuilt 4 Speed Manual Transmission that transmits power to the rebuilt rear end. Although the car is not numbers matching, period correct drive train components drive this car. The view from under the hood and from under the car is a sight to behold! PHS indicates the car came from the factory painted Burgundy and sporting a black interior. However, fond memories from yesteryear dictated that the car would present in red livery with a white interior. Close attention was paid to the body restoration and any repair was expertly performed. The result is a stunning, lazer straight body with deep red paint that elicits praise wherever it gs. Body lines are correct across the car and all chrome and brightwork is either new or professionally refurbished to show as new. The trunk presents very well in keeping with the quality across the rest of the car. The interior shows exceptionally well with Pontiac correct Parchment upholstery, door panels, and headliner, black carpet, console, dash and gauges. The Parchment white presents a striking complement to the red exterior and the entire car outside, inside and underneath deserves a Wow. The Odometer shows 446 miles and is believed to be the correct miles since the restoration was completed. Extensive records and receipts record the level of restoration to the car as do pictures of the build. PHS documentation is included in the records on the GTO. As the calendar always turns from year to year, so comes time for beloved cars to pass on to the next owner. The widow of the gentleman who built this car is making it available at auction. This GTO is assured to delight the next curator of this Icon of the American Muscle Car era. THIS VEHICLE TO BE COLLECTED FROM BILLINGS, MONTANA. The Car has been consigned to the 5th Annual Intermountain Online Classic Car Auction. Hosted by the Classic Car Auction Group, the auction is Saturday, March 16 with online bidding only. To consign your car and/or to register to bid on this and other cars in the auction go to http://www.classiccarauction.us.
