FOR SALE: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro $52,500 USD

Chevrolet Camaro Manual

Interior Color: Taupe Exterior Color: Maroon Metallic Description: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Hardtop In 1966 Mustangs were flying out of Ford showrooms, and Chevrolet needed an answer.  After many secret meetings, and covert internal press events, engineers unveiled the official name for what had been known up to this point as XP-836.  Camaro was the chosen namesake, and immediately the question became but what does it mean?.  This question has no official linguistic answer, but as Chevrolet marketing people would answer It\'s an animal that eats Mustangs! For consignment, a real gem with the first generation Camaro which was once a mild mannered street car that is now a full on custom street/strip bruiser.  Bathed it in maroon metallic with some purple flames, a bumperless front end, an added in over the top ostrich skin covered interior, and then there was a 496ci V8 plopped under the hood to keep this skate eating up the competition, all the while keeping the driving in the lap of luxury.  Read on and you too will be impressed by this go fast Mustang eater, and if you are you\'d better get your butt in here because these don\'t last long in our halls.  Gone like a freight train, gone like yesterday... Exterior With it\'s pony car long front and short rear deck we can note all straight rust free steel, and it\'s all bathed in the deep end of the pool mirror finished maroon metallic with some light purple flames licking back from the grille.  A stock Camaro with exposed headlights, a shaved rear bumper, shaved door handles, a small bowtie emblem in the center of the grille, and chromed trimmings.  All of this presents with some very minor inclusions in the finish with all well minded gaps which include the reverse scooped hood that leads back to the lightly tinted glass around the passengers compartment.  Accenting this straight body is nice chrome and clean window trimmings and a stock Camaro tail lights setup is seen as is the smoothed filler panel in the center.  15-inch Billet Specialties wheels, polished to the nines, are wrapped in skinny 205/70 rubber up front and sticky 275/60 Mickey Thompson drag radials in the rear.  Telling\' ya...Gone like a soldier in the Civil war, Bang, Bang... Interior The interior door panels present original in design and form, but have been covered in ostrich leather hides and are very clean and straight in smooth saddle for the integrated armrests and textured slightly lighter inserts.  Moving inside we see front low back buckets and a rear bench showing off with broad tuck and roll textured ostrich hide light saddle inserts and smooth darker saddle bolsters that sit above gold carpet, and all is clean in here.  The original dash shows nicely and retains its rake as it moves downward from the dash top.  Dakota digital blue glowing instruments are now settled into the deep round insert gauges.  Chromed eyeball vents are in the dash as well and a padded saddle ostrich hide topper caps things off nicely.  A Billet Specialties rally steering wheel turns easily as it is power assisted.  In dash center is more ostrich hide framing the AM/FM/Bluetooth/DVD stereo and above are the factory temp sliders.  This intersects with the center console that races through the buckets, sports some wood applique around the shifter and 4 digital blue backlit gauges that present themselves to the driver nicely.  An ostrich hide padded insert is in for the glove box and works perfectly with the padded saddle surrounds and twin cupholders just in front.  A short stalk piston topped Hurst shifter is just behind these gauges and well within reach of the pilot.  The headliner in saddle vinyl is nice and tight and we cannot overlook the trunk with its gold carpeting, ostrich hide underside trunk lid liner and smooth padded saddle sides.  Mmmmm mmmm good! Drivetrain Under the hood and my partner in crime needed to slap me as I was totally hypnotized by the machinist\'s dream I couldn\'t take my eyes off of!  What did I behold but a 496ci V8 capable of a dyno proven 655hp.  A Sca

FOR SALE: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro $56,995 USD

Chevrolet Camaro Manual

Engine: 454 V8 Transmission: Manual Interior Color: Black Exterior Color: Red Description: This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS Tribute is an awesome build with a bold style, a serious 454 big block upgrade, and the control of four-on-the-floor. It makes for the kind of coupe that can really live up to your love for this legend. This Camaro keeps the classic style we love with details like bright chrome bumpers, good trim, and 14-inch rally wheels. But there\'s plenty of attitude in the mix too. After all, the custom fiberglass hood with Corvette-inspired stinger is a very cool/custom way to announce its big block upgrade while still staying true to the Chevy family. Red looks quite sporty on a sports car especially when it\'s a later respray that keeps it looking attractive. It doesn\'t get too fancy with the finish, but it gives you a nice gloss while also keeping a true cruiser attitude. After all, you have a great Super Sport style with the blackout grille, chin spoiler, SS badges, full-width rear spoiler, and correct blackout rear panel of a big block Camaro. The all-black interior sets the right tone you want in a driver\'s coupe. There\'s a clean dark presentation on the seats, door panels, and carpeting. You can tell this is a driver\'s car by the way it makes you a priority. Your left hand will feel the grip of the three-spoke steering wheel, and your right hand will be attracted to the Hurst shifter. And the auxiliary gauge trio will keep informing you what\'s happening under the hood. It\'s always great to see a Camaro engine bay filled with proper big block power. The motor looks nice with details like the bright valve covers, matching air grabber, and orange painted block. But our favorite part might just be the callout decals. Because while this says 396, it\'s actually a LARGER 454 cubic-inch V8. Not only does it have an upgraded displacement, but it\'s a performance-built package that includes Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor w/electric choke, an Assault Racing intake, and long tube headers feeding the dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. The full package wants you to get the right classic feeling for these components, and so the four-speed manual transmission puts you in direct control of the motor. And the driving experience is quite vintage, but wide tires and front disc brakes give you the proper confidence on the road. This is the cool Camaro with a bold style and unfiltered big block experience that makes for the kind of car that lets you feel what it was like to rule the blacktop back in the day. Call today!!!
