FOR SALE: 1969 Plymouth Road Runner $66,995 USD

Plymouth Road runner Manual

Engine: 426 Stroker V8 Transmission: Manual Interior Color: Green Exterior Color: Forest Green Metallic Description: This 1969 Plymouth Road Runner is a very cool classic because it has a ton of history, but it never lets that get in the way of a good time. For example, the motor is believed to be original to the car, but it was also rebuilt and enlarged at Dennis Maurer\'s shop (the Mopar drag racing legend) to a blacktop-owning 426ci car. There\'s even a five-speed upgrade so you can better harness the enhanced power. And while the car\'s green-on-green color combo is correct, there are also period-correct upgrades like the A12 hood and Keystone Klassic wheels to make sure this muscle Mopar is pure intimidation. Plus, no matter how much growl is added to this coupe, the horn still goes BEEP! BEEP! HIGHLIGHTS *A12 lift-off hood with big fresh air scoop *Beautiful respray of factory-correct Forest Green Metallic *Straight/clean body panels *Iconic Keystone Klassic wheels *Newer Cooper Cobra tires (2021) *Two-tone green seats are clean and complete right down to the seatback trim *Iconic Hurst pistol grip shifter *Upgraded AutoMeter Sport-Comp oil pressure and tach *Grant sports steering wheel on a quick-release mount *AM/FM stereo *383 cubic-inch V8 with correct date codes to likely be original *Maurer\'s Performance rebuilt V8 (receipt provided) and said to be a 426 stroker *Upgraded Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission *Baer master cylinder and front disc brakes *Build receipts This is one of those great muscle Mopars that is for true drivers. You can tell it wants you to experience the best of 1969 with details like the special hood and a pistol-grip shifter. But the upgraded gears and extra-grippy front disc brakes also signal an understanding of what\'s needed to enjoy it in modern times. And for those who are true purists, many of this car\'s original stick-style come with the sale, including the four-speed transmission, brake drums, master cylinder, and stock radio. So what you get is a mean green machine that\'s going to get a lot of attention... but you\'ll be too busy on the road to notice it all. So if you\'re a real driver, don\'t let this true classic sip away. Call today!!!

FOR SALE: 1969 Plymouth Road Runner $74,900 USD

Plymouth Road runner Manual

Interior Color: Dark Green Exterior Color: Dark Green Description: 1969 Plymouth Road Runner Hardtop The first Road Runners, built for serious roadwork, were lighter, cheaper, and had better performance compared to other muscle cars of their time. Plymouth Road Runners were fearsome and pretty, but don\'t mistake pretty for fragile because these road demons were faster than the regular cop cars of their time and could take serious damage without breaking down. This car prompted other muscle cars back in its era to improve their hardware and deliver high-speed performance at an affordable cost. The Road Runner remains the greatest muscle car of its era, some would say it was an evolution of the muscle car industry. Despite its fall, the Road Runners are still remembered in auctions and promotional tours and they still get action at auctions with the correct stats. For consignment a well optioned 1969 Road Runner with a 383ci V8 bored and stroked to 438ci, a 4-speed, Hurst shifter, A/C, disc brakes, AM/FM, and no center console but bucket seats and a tachometer. Throw in an N96 fresh air hood, and we have a rare classic that ushered in the muscle car era and created a bar for the other manufacturers to try to meet as to toughness and reliability with the power to outrun the Po Po... Exterior Medium Green Metallic AKA Avocado green which is THE color to have if you are talking pre 1970\'s shagadelic muscle car. Paint on this car is absolutely top notch as are trimmings, black vinyl top and long trunk deck and hood. Speaking of the hood, an N96 fresh air hood is on, and shows satin black stripes encompassing the dual side intake scoops if you will, along with their 383 badging. Laser straight steel, with only 2 small areas of rust bubbling and nary even a scratch to be seen throughout with all well minded gaps. Pristine chromed bumpers frame the bottoms of the front and rear and on back a shiny exhaust pipe peek out from either side of the bottom of the rear bumper. One has to love the detail on the rear glass with its ogee bottom window trim shape just adding some interest to the overall lines of this pretty much square and rectangle design car. Shiny 15 inch Cragar wheels are wrapped by new Mickey Thompson rubber 245\'s for the front, and 275\'s for the rear yielding a 2 inch rake to the car\'s stance. Interior Options are king on these early muscle cars as at this time they all cost extra money, which with the original buyer was no object. So currently, we see a mix of light and dark green vinyl mixing with some exterior body matching metal on the doors on horizontal panel breakup format along with some simple trim and pulls and cranks within this toned green field. Low back bomber style buckets are installed and a center green carpeting covered hump in lieu of a console runs between these buckets. For the back passengers a rear bench in the same color way and pattern allow for extras to go along for the ride. A Hurst shifter reaches for the driver from the center of the hump just in front of the seats and just above is the original dash showing in near perfect condition in green padded vinyl, and black textured vinyl for the background of the gauges. Gauges which include a tachometer and an aftermarket oil pressure gauge to monitor the mill while tromping on the gas pedal that feeds it. A like new vinyl headliner is above, and it has a working dome light in the center. Drivetrain Getting right to the heart of the matter, we fling open the hood, and are greeted by a like new engine which is not an ordinary engine....where we see the numbers matching 383ci block rebuilt, bored and stroked to displace 438ci of Mopar V8. This had been dyno tested and maxes out at 587hp according to the dyno sheet. The mill sports Brodix aluminum heads and a Holley 850cfm 4 BBL carburetor which is feeding air and fossils through an Edelbrock intake. Lighting the fire within is a new Pertronix Flamethrower II distributor and our consignor notes that jet changes to the carb with
