FOR SALE: 1941 Cadillac Series 62 $49,500 USD

Cadillac Series 62 Automatic

Interior Color: Dark Red Exterior Color: Maroon Description: 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Long, low, and sleek...with an elegance all their own – the formidable Standard of the World ruled the road. Cadillac had them all running scared by introducing technology and advanced automotive design. As a luxury car, it was complete; its poised dignity was not an afterthought. Power, performance, and presence were the true hallmarks of the brand. Whatever one sought in a luxury car...Cadillac could provide. Luxury and elegance makes another cameo appearance...in the continuing saga of As the Standard of the World Turns. For consignment, taking from its standard of the world 1940\'s styling this large and in charge red caddy, is presented in resto-mod form. It retains its big rounded steel panels and shiny overdone trimmings, and luxurious juke box like interior dash and seats, however some extra goodies have been added on to put this car in the category of resto-mod. I know I had to look twice too but read on and you\'ll find out this car is like a box of chocolates! Exterior From the nose of its winged goddess hood ornament, atop the protuberant hood and large caddy badge below on front to the end of the stalked taillights this car bleeds luxury. When the hood is aloft, it reminds me of a Conquistador helmet. Straight, all steel panels are all sculpted and minding their gaps and are bathed in miles deep maroon paint. Pontoon fenders protrude from the sides and frame highly polished turbine style caddy badged subbed wheel coverings that are wrapped in wide whites. Chrome trimmings are seen in excess but remain a tasteful accenting to the grille, side spears, searchlights, headlight bezels handles, hood vents, and the split windshield surround. Lest we forget the big bumpers on front and rear and these show in good condition with a nice spit shine. Large rear fender skirts cover nearly the entire rear wheel and tire and cozy up to a shiny rocker trimming. Even the taillights are large, and the only hint of something different lies below the rear bumper where we see dual exhaust chrome tips peeking out. I sense a hot rod! A white convertible canvas top is in fair condition, shows dirt and some wear near the windshield. It does have a clear plastic window, and beautiful chromed framing to make it go up and down manually. Interior Stepping over the ornately engraved threshold, Oxblood leather abounds for the door panels and interior benches. Using the stitched panel and overstuffed tuck and roll technique you could be seated in your smoking lounge strategizing about the game of 8 ball going on at the time. Seats and door panels are in nice condition with just a small frown for the armrest on the driver\'s side. Conspicuous consumption best describes the dash with its Wurlitzer sequel chromed trimmings around the radio and speaker covering. Hidden in the glovebox is another hint of the resto-mod motif in that there is an AM/FM/CD changer. A round speedo complete with a large chromed bezel and on the passenger\'s side a similar size clock pepper the dash. In front of the beautifully aged bakelite steering wheel complete with a chromed horn ring and badged center is a horizontal cluster of gauges. Vintage A/C has been added in, along with the bagged suspension aftermarket gauge and a small panel of 2 gauges hanging below the dash. Deep red carpeting covers the floors and is nice and thick on the pile directive. Drivetrain In the category of well I was not expecting that, a lift of the heavy hood and what to our wondering eyes does appear? How about a stout 472ci V8 blinged out with chromed valve coverings, an Edelbrock intake and a 4-barrel carburetor. On the back is a TH350 3-speed automatic throwing power to a Ford 9- inch rear. Supple hoses and red ignition high voltage wiring add some more pop to this large mill. Undercarriage Completely restored and modified with a Mustang II front end suspension, and some leaf springs with the adjustable air

FOR SALE: 1958 Cadillac Series 62 $79,900 USD

Cadillac Series 62 Automatic

Interior Color: Red & White Exterior Color: Black Description: 1958 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible - Florida Car - Same Owner for 40 Years - Black over Red/White Interior - 365ci/335hp V8 with Automatic - 85k Original Miles - Routinely Serviced with many rebuilt components During the 1950s, there were few cars that came more luxurious or larger than the Cadillac. No other car than a Cadillac convertible could symbolize to your neighbors, your community or even the world that you had arrived. More popular than even the DeVille, The Series 62 was the sales leader for Cadillac. Although the fifth generation Series 62 was introduced in 1957 and was only carried through 1958 they still represent one of the most stylish and well received examples available to collectors today. For 1957, Cadillac dramatically restyled its lineup, creating a very modern looking vehicle that nodded at things to come while paying tribute to its heritage. The traditional perimeter frame was dropped and Cadillac introduced a new X-frame, which was said to allow for the body to sit lower while continuing to provide exceptional interior space. For 1958, there were a few upgrades to the model starting with a new grille featuring multiple round bullets at the intersection of the horizontal and vertical members. Dual headlamps were now standard equipment on production vehicles. In addition, Cadillac used small chrome fins to decorate the front fenders. The grille was now wider and new bumper guards were positioned closer to the parking lamps. Tail-fins were less pronounced and the word Cadillac now appeared on the fin\'s top edge and the convertibles used decorative lower rocker moldings that flowed into the polished wheel lip moldings. Offered here is a beautiful Cadillac Series 62 Convertible which has been in the same ownership for the last 40 years. Originally from Florida with only 85,000 miles on the odometer, this gorgeous drop top is finished in Black with a White convertible top and was treated to an older cosmetic restoration. The paint presents well with a nice luster but there are fine swirl surface scratches and minor blemishes in the paint throughout. The exterior chrome was re-plated, and all the stainless trim was restored several years ago and has been well maintained. Rearview mirrors and door handles are showing some patina and light pitting. The power folding soft convertible top is in good condition, clean and free of any rips our tears and works well. The rear window is clear with only some slight scratches in the clear plastic. The Red & White combination leather interior possesses some typical signs of past driver enjoyment, but overall continues to show exceptionally well with no rips or tears. The seat cushions support passengers very well, and the leathers remains exceptionally soft. Drivers will appreciate the power steering, power brakes and the Autoronic Eye (automatic headlight dimmer), and day/night rear-view mirror, and windshield washer. While all the occupants will enjoy the air conditioning, Wonderbar AM radio with rear speaker, power windows, E-Z-Eye tinted glass, passenger visor vanity mirror. Under the hood remains the factory correct 365ci OHV V8 producing 310 horsepower and 405 ft. lbs. of torque. The engine compartment is clean and presents as well maintained with many new parts such as fuel pump, fresh tune-up with new spark plugs, plug wires, and distributor cap, fresh coolant hoses and the air conditioning has been recently serviced. The chassis and underbody are unrestored with no indications of rust or accident repair. The chassis has been well maintained including new rear springs and shocks, new fuel lines and the gas tank has been restored. Power is transferred to Cadillac\'s durable Hydra-Matic automatic transmission with standard 3.07:1 rear axle gearing allowing for superb highway travel. The combination rolls on steel 15 wheels with US Royal Safety 800 820-15 bias ply white wall tires and polished wheel covers. Included is a cache of extra
