Illinois - VoloEngine: 440 V8 Transmission: Automatic Interior Color: Black Exterior Color: Bright Blue Metallic Description: You\'re looking at a true Mopar driver\'s dream machine. This is a 1970 Plymouth GTX that has quite an authentic style inside and out. But you\'re also given terrific upgrades, like the A/C interior and a fresher power-built 440 big block under the hood. So when you see a combination of rarity, beauty, usefulness, and power, you know you\'ve found muscle car heaven. We love the 1970 cars because the GTX was having one of its best years for a wide and imposing style. So it\'s great to see such clean and crisp lines on this coupe that give it a command presence at every stoplight. But the sheet metal is only part of the story. Bright Blue was on Plymouth\'s color pallet in 1970, but it never looked this good from the factory. There has been an investment in a modern metallic paint, and a professional hand applying it. So, now all the subtle creases of the bodywork pop when the sunlight hits this super-straight coupe. The only thing that shines brighter are the extra-wide mirror-like bumpers and iconic Mag 500 wheels with classic Goodyear Polyglas tires. As a true muscle machine, it came directly from the factory with aggressive features like the power bulge hood and those large side scoops. And as a GTX, this has a premium aspect to go with the sporty nature. So this one had options like the black vinyl roof that so nicely matches the comprehensive exterior stripe package. You\'ll love cruising with all the windows down when you have a pillarless hardtop like this. That\'s why it\'s also great to have the interior coordinate with the black vinyl roof for a full uniform presentation. The driver and passenger get high-back vinyl bucket seats with a comfortable center console. The rest of the interior is fresh and clean, which makes it all feel like a 1970s time capsule. Even the dark tones of the wood paneling harmonize with the black color quite nicely, an excellent reminder that the upper-level GTX was a true gentleman\'s coupe. But while we love this for being vintage, you can also see it was made to be a better modern cruiser. You have features like an upgraded AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth and cold-blowing air conditioning that make this quite comfortable. And the new Dakota Digital gauges do their part to add freshness to the interior without being overbearing. Power comes from the biggest engine in Chrysler\'s stable, the feared 440 cubic-inch big block. This replacement motor was installed only a few years ago, but it looks quite authentic, right down to the Super Commando air grabber. This monster motor is further enhanced with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock Performer intake, and headers feeding the stainless H-pipe dual exhaust. The upgraded cam improved the muscle and rumble from this big block. The Torqueflite A727 three-speed automatic transmission is stout enough to handle the extra power when it\'s time to unleash the big block\'s fury, and it\'s also calm enough for everyday cruising. The same goes for the power steering, power brakes, and upgraded front discs that create a fine anytime package. Plymouth didn\'t build many examples of these serious muscle machine GTXs in 1970 like this one, and we bet it will be near impossible to find one finished to this level ever again. So don\'t miss an opportunity of a lifetime. Call now!
