GladstoneGateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this 1936 Ford 5 Window Coupe. The timeless styling of the 1930s American cars is unmistakable. The Ford Coupe may be the coolest of them all. From the vast, swooping fenders to the teardrop trunk, these cars seem to flow forever. The firewall has been pushed back 3" to accommodate the larger 350CID "H.D. Deluxe" V-8, with an Edelbrock carburetor, Flowmaster dual exhaust, custom one-off valve covers and air cleaner all painted in a matte finish, with that work done by BH Customs. Backing the 350 is a smooth shifting 700R4 automatic transmission and out back is a Ford 9-inch rear with 3.50:1 gear was chosen to handle getting the power to the ground. The front end was outfitted with chromed tubular control arms, Heidts Super Ride II IFS Mustang II power rack and pinion steering, and Wilwood disc brakes. The interior was thoughtfully designed by Downey's Auto Upholstery in Wichita Kansas and consists of grey tweed and tan leather on the Glide Engineering bucket back bench seat and follows over to the door panels and headliner. A nicely integrated Vintage air conditioning system looks factory, and a Kenwood AM/FM/CD radio head unit lives above the review mirror. The 14" Billet Specialties Fastlane leather wrapped steering wheel sits on a Flaming River polished tilt steering column and fronts Autometer Gauges consisting of a 120mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer along with auxiliary water temperature, battery voltage, oil pressure and fuel level gauges. This '36 Ford has everything a street rodder needs to have a fun time getting to all the car shows you'll want to attend or just cruising in style on those summer nights.
Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta is proud to represent this 1936 Ford Coupe! The Model 48 was an update on Ford's V8-powered Model 40-A, the company's main product. Introduced in 1935, the Model 48 was given a cosmetic refresh annually, before being thoroughly redesigned for 1941. The 1935 Ford's combination of price, practicality, and looks vaulted the company ahead of rival Chevrolet for the sales crown that year, with 820,000 sold. The Ford Model 48 has a front-mounted engine, and rear-wheel drive. It features a traditional body-on-frame design, and was offered with ten different body styles. Chevrolet regained the sales lead at the end of 1936, but the Ford still sold well. The look was updated with an inverted pentagonal grille with all-vertical bars beneath a prominent hood and three horizontal chrome side strips (on DeLuxe models). The V8 DeLuxe was called Model 68. A concealed horn, long a prominent part of the Ford's design, also brought the car into modern times. The new trucks continued with the old grille. Other major changes for 1936 were the use of pressed steel "artillery" solid wheels instead of wire wheels. This particular 1936 has been cosmetically and mechanically refreshed but remains largely original with documentation going back to original registration in California. Originally sold new in Los Angeles, CA on February 7, 1936, the car spent a majority of its life there until sold and moved to collection in North Carolina. Following a long hibernation, the car was refinished (with photo documentation available) before being sold to the current family roughly 15 years ago. Finished in Washington Blue over Tan Leather Interior, this '36 is pristine in and out! Powering this 1936 Coupe is a '48 239ci Flathead 59A-B motor backed by a floor shifted 1939 3-Speed Manual Transmission with Hydraulic Overdrive. Additional features include upgraded brakes and axels, Coker Classic Radial Tires, and a 12-Volt conversion. If you are in the market for a stunning example of early American motor history, this head turning 1936 Ford Coupe deserves to be driven!
